NHS Lincolnshire West Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is the organisation responsible for planning, commissioning (buying) and monitoring GP, hospital, mental health and community health services聽on behalf of the 240,000 people living in Lincoln, Gainsborough and surrounding areas.
We鈥檙e a membership organisation, made up of 30 member GP practices, led by doctors, nurses and other health professionals who have first-hand experience of treating patients. We also have a small organisation team who provide support to the CCG with specific functions including project management, contracting, performance and data analysis, finance, quality, communication and engagement. All decisions made聽about聽local healthcare priorities sit with our Primary Care Commissioning Committee and Governing Body.
It is important that we have a clear vision of what we aim to achieve, and that the vision is developed with GP member practices and owned by them, and that the vision is clearly communicated to partner organisations, patients, and the public. Our vision is that the people of Lincolnshire West receive compassionate care and excellent health services that promote healthy lifestyles and prevents illness.
We work closely with other NHS organisations including NHS England, neighbouring CCGs, and hospital, mental health and community health trusts to deliver healthcare services locally and improve the health and wellbeing of local people. We also work with other partners including Public Health, local and district councils, voluntary/third sector organisations, and local health and social care聽patient champion Healthwatch Lincolnshire.
We聽are responsible for commissioning a range of local healthcare services for the population we serve. These include GP, hospital, mental health, and community health services. We are also the lead commissioner for Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS),聽St Barnabas Hospice,聽Marie Curie, East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EMAS), NHS 111, and the Non Emergency Patient Transport Service, which means we manage the service contracts with these organisations on behalf of all residents of Lincolnshire.
