Main duties of the job

The Child Health Care Group are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and reliable individual to join the team in the role of admissions team leader.

Our Child Health admissions office operates Monday-Friday covering core office hours of between 8am-5pm. ÌýThey provide administrative support for a wide range of clinicians and specialities in terms of managing their waiting lists effectively. Patients are admitted from across the region and Channel Islands to our services.Ìý

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate the following:
1. Experience of administration in a customer focussed environment.
2. Experience of dealing with complex problems and progress chasing.Ìý
3. Educated to GCSE standard with a pass in English and Maths.
4. Line management experience is desirable.

We would ideally like someone to cover office hours of 9-5.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience e.g. good knowledge across a range of administrative work procedures including non-routine elements
  • Educated to GCSE (or equivalent) standard, with a pass in English and Maths
  • Experience of administration in a customer- focused environment
  • Experience of dealing with non-routine and complex problems, progress chasing, resource and staff allocation
  • Ability to compose correspondence from fragmented instructions
  • Experience in delivering training sessions
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working in an acute hospital setting
  • Competent in the use of ESR and Healthroster
  • Supervisory or office management experience
