As a Band 6 Nurse within the community inpatient care team, dz’l play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care while leading and supporting your team. ۴dz’l use your clinical expertise to ensure patient safety, advocate for those in your care, and contribute to continuous improvement within our services. ۴dz’l work as Nurse in Charge and alongside a collaborative, supportive team, empowering patients and their families, and promoting a positive, inclusive culture.
Henry Tudor ward has some exciting plans to further develop its inpatient services and we are looking to recruit someone who feels that they can innovate and lead a team.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
The post holder will work within the ward team and in conjunction with the ward manager providing a strong clinical lead and promoting new projects and developments. They will take an active role in managing staff issues and deputise for the ward manager as well as being actively involved in day-to-day clinical care.
The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent team leadership skills and will be passionate about working with people with acute and complex mental health needs. They will be fully committed to providing innovative care and treatment that is evidence based within a strong multi-disciplinary team including consultant's Geriatrician and other physicians, Occupational and Physiotherapists, Social services and students. You will support the team in delivering a safe personalised approach to care and treatment aimed and promoting the health and well-being of people with a focus on rehabilitation, complex discharge planning and returning to community-based care

Previous Experience

- Previous experience as a Band 5 nurse, including shift co-ordinating/team leading

- Previous experience of working as Band 6 within a ward situation
- Recent experience of working in a similar setting.
- Working knowledge of Intermediate care systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Able to communicate with the multi-disciplinary team, present cases, take note of actions, update others in the team and use handover effectively. Speaking face to face but also by telephone and writing letters and reports.
- Able to talk to people about sensitive issues in a supportive manner but also challenge others assertively where necessary
- Maintaining accurate, timely, concise and legible clinical records both electronic and handwritten which adhere to the BHFT policies.
- Understanding the concept of quality and their role in improving safety, clinical outcomes and the patient experience.
- Ability to work well and lead others while under pressure.
- Demonstrate a kind and compassionate demeanor at all times.
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in the care of older people and intermediate care Sound clinical assessment skills
- Good IT skills with ability to maintain electronic patient records including the use of RIO, or other electronic patient records/EPMA
- Have a good understanding of Safeguarding and advocacy, understanding how the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards impacts on their work and the people they are working with.
- Ability to understand long-term and wider implications of decisions.
