We are looking to recruit a Band 6, Registered Mental Health Nurse who is compassionate, creative, and flexible in their approach to delivering individualised, person-centred care, is keen to progress their career and feel that they have the leadership capability demanded by the role. The successful applicant will have 2 years post-registration experience, will demonstrate outstanding communication skills, be confident in their decision-making, and be committed to providing managerial support to the ward manager and clinical leadership to the ward team.Ìý
Ward 5, located at the Newsam Centre in Leeds, is a 17 bedded Level 2 rehabilitation service that delivers rehabilitation and recovery to male service users with enduring mental illness. The service provides a holistic, psychologically informed approach to support service users in developing their life skills, independence and hope for the future in a way that is meaningful to them, in the least restrictive way possible, with a focus on individual strengths.
From August 2025 Ward 5 will relocate to Parkside Lodge, Armley, a redeveloped and purpose built stand-alone rehabilitation unit.

The service is currently undergoing exciting development and transformation, and we would particularly welcome applications from those who hold additional skills in recovery-focused psychological interventions, or who wish to acquire and develop these skills.
