An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as an Apprentice Ward Clerk and be part of the ward cardiology team on the Coronary Care Unit (CCU). The Apprentice Ward Clerk will be the first point of contact for patients, patient's relatives and other departments within the organisation as well as our external partners.
We are seeking a caring, reliable and organised individual to provide efficient and effective clerical/administrative support to the nursing and cardiology team. You will support and work alongside our current Ward Clerk covering a seven-day working pattern which includes evenings and weekends.
Alongside the job role you will be completing the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship. If you already hold this qualification at Level 2 or above, then unfortunately you are not eligible to apply.

To be eligible for an Apprenticeship you must meet the following criteria:
Be 18 years old or over
Have the right to work in the UK

PLEASE NOTE: The post is initially offered as a fixed term contract; but will become permanent on successful completion of the apprenticeship.

To provide an efficient and effective clerical support service to nursing and medical staff within our Geriatrics & Frailty ward. The post holder will promote and encourage a caring and sympathetic environment for patient, relatives and staff ensuring that high standards of service are continually maintained. The nature of duties undertaken within this post dictates that strict confidentiality is maintained at all times.

We operate from two main sites – KGH in Goodmayes and Queen’s Hospital in Romford. We have two busy emergency departments with more than 330,000 people visiting them last year. We’re campaigning to secure the £35m we need to and get rid of corridor care.
Our patients are benefitting from our in Ilford; an in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at and at in Hornchurch.
These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.
The majority of our 8,000 staff – who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Many can and more than 400 of them are on our Ofsted accredited . We’re proud to be a employer.
