Summary about the Service
The Skin Integrity Service (SIS) is a multi-disciplinary clinical service working across the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) area within the Sirona Specialist Advice and Support Services (SASS).Ìý
The Skin Integrity Service aims to provide integrated skin services across the specialities of wound care, lymphoedema and dermatology.ÌýÌý Support for patients within these pathways can be via attendance at clinical settings for appointments or within the patient’s own home setting.
The services also deliver education for health care professionals across the area and specialist nurses provide support and advice for community nurses, practice nurses and nurses within care homes.
Core working hours for the service are currently 0800-1700, with the main administrative hub based at William Budd Health Centre in Knowle.
Main duties of the job
Duties described are not exhaustive and may be varied from time to time.
This role will be responsible for providing a comprehensive and flexible administrative service to the multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals working within the Skin Integrity Services.

The post holder will work collaboratively and flexibly on a daily basis with other administrators within the service to prioritise and distribute work ensuring all key functions of the services are covered. ÌýThe post holder will work well as a team player with the other administrators to support the specialist Clinicians, patients and colleagues who contact the service.
As a senior administrator, developing and maintaining efficient administrative processes to ensure the smooth running of the service is key.
Currently our main base is situated within the William Budd Health Centre, Knowle but within this role there may be times when you are expected to work flexibly and travel to other bases/hubs across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire, as well as some possible hybrid working dependent on service requirement. ÌýThis role is predominantly office based at William Budd Health Centre.

Education and qualifications
Essential criteria
- Significant practical experience in a wide range of relevant administrative procedures, preferably supported by an NVQ 3 in administration or equivalent training/demonstrable experience.
Skills, knowledge and experience
Essential criteria
- Range of IT skills including electronic communication, text processing, spread sheets and data bases.
- Able to communicate calmly and professionally with patients/ clients/visitors/others who may demonstrate challenging behaviour.
- Positive approach to change, and supporting others through change.
- Collating and producing data/information in a reader friendly way.
- How to train/mentor others and, where relevant to the role, how to line manage others.
- Able to work well in a team environment but also acts on own initiative.
Desirable criteria
- Working in a health/social care or service-oriented organisation.
