Job overview

To work within a multi-disciplinary team, closely with staff from other agencies, to promote and maintain high standards of care for children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental conditions. This will involve contributing to diagnostic assessments by undertaking specific aspects of the assessment as required, providing support to families and young people through group based workshops and interventions and in 1:1 support to meet agreed outcomes and as agreed with families. The post holder will be expected to work with children, their families, carers, staff teams and other professionals in a variety of community settings. 听In addition, the post holder will provide clinical and managerial support for junior colleagues, undertaking work alongside, or on behalf of the post holder.

Main duties of the job

The Central Neurodevelopmental Team covers Conwy and Denbighshire and offers comprehensive neurodevelopmental assessment leading to the production of a personal profile, outlining strengths and needs, and diagnosis, if appropriate, along with developing the service for the future to provide a variety of interventions. 听The service is also striving towards providing a range of interventions through group work, workshops and bespoke individual interventions. 听To enable the team to continue to deliver to its full capacity, a vacancy for a band 6 practitioner has become available.

Candidates should be registered professionals,听 speech and language therapist, and have registration with an appropriate body. 听Applicants should also demonstrate experience in working with people with ND conditions (ASD and / or ADHD) and preferably, in working with children and families. 听Provided candidates have this prior knowledge and experience, full training through a structured induction, will ensure the successful candidate will become familiar with the assessment tools, and processes, used within the team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
