Job overview
This is a senior AHP operational and leadership role within Community Health Services.Ìý The role is basedÌýin the community across South and Mid Bedfordshire (CBC) with operational responsibility for a range of AHP services.Ìý You will work alongside a senior nursing lead at place, led by an Associate Director responsible for delivering community health services into Central Bedfordshire areas.Ìý There will be a focus on integration of intermediate care services with the local authority, system flow and the support of hospital admission prevention and supporting people to stay well at home.
Main duties of the job
This post holder will provide operational leadership and objective setting to a range of Community Health Services therapy services including Wheelchair services, Podiatry, and the Occupational and Physiotherapy teams within the primary care at home teams.Ìý
The post holder will be responsible for the effective management of human resource, financial resource, governance and business planning arrangements across the service lines including business continuity and quality improvement initiatives.
A key part of this role will be to form and maintain strong relationships with system partners in acute and social care in order to facilitate strong working relationships with a particular focus on integration with CBC reablement teams working at place to reduce ongoing care requirements, admission rates and improve patient experience.
The post holder will support the development of services, AHP workforce strategy and integration of AHP services with system partners as required.

You will work closely with the senior nursing manager and the Community Health Services Associate Director for Central Bedfordshire Council to create a strong, unified at place CHS team, deputising for these roles as required.

- Experience of managing more than one service or staff group
- Experience of working at a senior level, and in conjunction with external stakeholders eg partners in primary care and local commissioners
- Experience of leading significant project work

Essential criteria
- Significant clinical knowledge and understanding in own area
- Ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts and adapt communication style according to audience
- Ability to write clear and concise reports for discussion at senior level

- Ability to analyse data and interpret significance of data and apply this to service development across all disciplines, and to present this data externally (CCG, regional AHP forums)
