Main duties of the job

As a Project Manager within the Estates and Facilities Management Directorate, you will:Ìý

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan, coordinate, and deliver short, medium, and long-term projects.Ìý

  • Oversee a diverse project portfolio, ranging from estate development to service improvement and transformation.Ìý

  • Prepare critical project documentation, such as business cases, operational policies, and development plans.Ìý

  • Manage project risks, budgets, and stakeholder expectations to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.Ìý

  • Act as a key liaison with clinical teams to integrate innovative operational practices into healthcare environments.Ìý

  • Provide regular updates and reports to governance committees and project boards.Ìý

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To succeed in this role, you will:Ìý

Essential:Ìý

  • Strong experience in managing projects, including oversight of contractors and consultants.Ìý
  • Knowledge of NHS Estates guidelines and legislative requirements, such as HTM, HBN, Building Regulations 2010 etc.Ìý
  • Excellent budget management and organisational skills to deliver projects under pressure.Ìý
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with stakeholders.Ìý
  • Proficiency in IT and familiarity with project management tools.Ìý
  • Ability to coordinate activities across multi-agency settings and drive collaborative success.Ìý

Desirable:Ìý

  • Knowledge of healthcare provision complexities and NHS systems.Ìý
  • Relevant project management qualifications or training, such as Prince2, APM PMQ or similar.Ìý
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing policies and implementing best practices.Ìý
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment and Health & Safety standards.Ìý
