Job overview
The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT) and the University of Reading (UoR) are working in a collaborative partnership. The aims of this partnership are to improve patient care and clinical expertise by developing new teaching and learning provision, through research and its translation into clinical practice, by sharing facilities and by jointly exploiting commercial opportunities.
In 2021, we formalised out relationship through the formation of a Strategic Partnership Board, co-chaired by the Universities VC and the Trust鈥檚 CEO under which sits the Health Innovation Partnership. Our vision for the partnership is to build an environment and culture which fosters excellence in education, research and innovation in a sustainable, supportive and inclusive community benefiting the health of the people of Berkshire and beyond.

Main duties of the job
RBFT and the UoR have established an overarching SPB, which governs the Health Innovation Partnership (HIP), overseeing a number of joint initiatives between the two institutions. The role of HIP Facilitator will reside in the RBFT strategy & partnerships team and will provide support to the HIP programme and projects within, and other collaborations between these two institutions. The post holder will manage the administration of the HIP programmes, which typically have annual calls, alongside providing wrap around support to project collaborators, from research governance, to project management.听
Research: A core part of the role will be to support the development, and monitor progression, of clinical and non-clinical research projects within the HIP programme. The post holder will be expected to support and guide the project (and collaborators) from development of the protocol, supporting applications for ethical approval, to issuing Trust confirmation (Research Governance), through adherence to other institution-wide, regional and national research governance systems.听The post holder will oversee and support non-clinical research projects funded by the HIP.
Communications & Engagement: The Facilitator, under the supervision of the SPM, will coordinate projects under this workstream, alongside supporting the SPM with event management The post holder will be social media literate and, with the SPM, will maintain the partnership website.
