Deputy Lead Technician – Dispensary Services

Exciting opportunities have arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Pharmacy Technician with vision and excellent organisational and management skills to provide professional and managerial leadership to our dispensary services.

In addition to strong communication and leadership abilities, you should be a registered pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have current experience working within operational/technical services as a senior technician. Evidence of multi-disciplinary teamwork and project management is beneficial, as is experience in change management, strategic service development, and team management.

Main duties of the job

  • To support the Lead Technician for Dispensary in managing the Dispensary Service
  • To support recruitment, training and the development of systems for service provision in line with departmental and Trust strategic objectives and responsive to patient experience.
  • To be responsible for all aspects of the operational management of the dispensary service in absence of the Lead Technician for dispensary including the development of systems for service provision in line with departmental and Trust strategic objectives and responsive to patient experience.

Essential criteria
  • NVQ level 3 Pharmacy Services or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or SCOTVEC or equivalent
  • Professional registration as a Pharmacy Technician with General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Accredited Accuracy Checking
Desirable criteria
  • Management or supervisory training qualification (practice supervisor or train the trainer or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of a Dispensary Service
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Experience in dealing with complex situations and investigations
  • Experience of writing procedures
