This initiative forms part of the Government鈥檚 New Hospital Programme, representing a once-in-a-generation investment to modernise and enhance healthcare facilities. Currently in the Strategic Outline Business Case phase, this programme will reshape the future of healthcare delivery in our community. As a Project Manager, you will be at the heart of this transformation, driving forward complex projects that contribute to the success of the BBT Programme.

Main duties of the job

Take full ownership of projects, overseeing all phases from initiation to operational completion. This includes planning, directing, and coordinating activities to ensure the successful delivery of projects. You will lead project teams in defining and translating requirements into clear operational plans, ensuring alignment with programme goals. Your responsibilities also include establishing robust project controls and providing regular progress reports, including the assessment and management of risks, issues, and dependencies. Additionally, you will lead change management initiatives, working closely with the wider project team and stakeholder groups to ensure seamless project implementation and integration.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Project Manager will play a pivotal role within the Building Berkshire Together (BBT) Programme Team, holding professional accountability for the successful delivery of a diverse range of complex and high-impact projects. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and to the highest standards, while managing risks and aligning with the strategic objectives of the programme.

Person Specification

Education

Essential:听 Formal project management qualification (e.g., APM, MSP, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma & Prince2 or equivalent) or equivalent experience

Desirable:听Educated to degree level or with equivalent professional experience

Experience

Essential: Extensive experience in project management with a strong track record of delivering complex project.

听听听听听听 Facilitating and coordinating within a team of at Least 5 people on projects

Desirable: Experience working within the NHS, healthcare, or other public sector environments.

听听听听听听 Familiarity with NHS-specific policies & procedures, in the context of new hospital developments or infrastructure projects.
