Integrated Medicine at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust has been at the forefront of the rollout of e-rostering for clinicians within the Trust, and we're keen to advance our work in becoming a flexible-first employer. This means offering our clinicians increasing flexibility in how they work, enabling them to provide safe and compassionate care, every time.
We are looking for a rota coordinator to work within our division-wide e-rostering team based at Wycombe hospital but occasionally at Stoke Mandeville, utilising Health Rota software to consistently provide both safe and effective medical staffing, while improving the flexibility of rostering for our medical workforce.Ìý
We're keen to recruit an individual who is a problem solver, IT literate and keen to work as part of a team.Ìý
Main duties of the job
You will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of the rotas for Integrated Medicine using the Trust’s electronic rostering software – HealthRota.Ìý
You will consistently provide both safe and effective medical staffing, while improving the flexibility of rostering for our medical workforce.
You will co-ordinate all annual leave and study leave requests ensuring safe staffing levels for each area are maintained, liaising confidently and effectively withÌý
clinical staff, managers and the HR team.
You will be an excellent communicator with a wide variety of staff and be responsible for ensuring rotas provide safe and effective care for our patients.Ìý
You will build relationships with the clinical and managerial teams across the hospital, including providing support for the recruitment administration within the Division.

Education, Qualification & Training
Essential criteria
- Educational standard to GCSE level or equivalent, including English and Maths
Desirable criteria
- A levels/NVQ 3 or able to demonstrate equivalent level of experience in an administration or secretarial capacity.
- ECDL or equivalent IT skills qualification, or able to demonstrate equivalent level of experience in an administration or secretarial capacity.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of work procedures and practices gained in medical education, HR or operational administration
- Previous experience of problem solving
Desirable criteria
- Experience in managing rotas
- Managing own workload
- Managing a team of junior doctors +/- Consultants
- Experience of operating a computer system
- Prior experience working in the NHS in a similar position
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Excellent IT skills with knowledge of various computer packages including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet applications
- Knowledge of general office working procedures.
- Ability to investigate and solve problems and queries where able
- Awareness of raising issues with manager when they cannot be solved
- Ability to plan and organise own workload effectively to meet deadlines
- Excellent prioritisation and organisation skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
