Applications are invited for a band 5 rotational position within Cardiac Physiology.
You will have a degree in cardiac physiology (or equivalent) and will have RCCP or AHCS registration in progress or completed.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a large team and gain experience in both invasive and non-invasive cardiac physiology.

Main duties of the job
You will be involved in all aspects of the Cardiology Department and will be expected to rotate between both non-invasive and invasive areas of the department. Â First and foremost is the ability to be part of a team. Â
You should be able to perform 12 lead ECG’s; ambulatory monitors including analysis; physiologist-led provocative treadmill tests; pharmacological MIBI; left and right heart catheterisation; ILR implant and analysis; standard pacemaker implantation and follow up with supervision; complex device follow up with supervision.
Full and ongoing training and support will be provided for the successful candidate with a view to acquire further qualifications and accreditation. Â We are in the process of introducing a structured and comprehensive professional development plan for advancement as part of the appraisal system.
You will be expected to remain professional at all times, liaise with other clinical teams and maintain good public relations on a one-to-one basis with the general public and other interest groups.Â

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree in Cardiac Physiology (BSc) (or equivalent experience/skills BTech, HTec Cardiac Physiology)- pending results acceptable
- RCCP/AHCS registration
Desirable criteria
- SCST diploma
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in a range of non-invasive and invasive cardiology tests
- Experience working in a healthcare environment, working alongside clinical and managerial staff.
- Experience of communicating directly with patients/carers and visitors.
Desirable criteria
- Ability to perform a range of diagnostic tests and provide factual reports with minimal supervision.
- Previous NHS experience
- Experience of training people.
Skills
Essential criteria
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to produce work quickly and accurately to a high standard.
- Ability to manage and prioritise own time and workload appropriately.
- Ability to work as part of a team.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of Cardiology procedures- invasive and non-invasive (12-Lead ECG, ambulatory ECG monitor fitting and analysis, technician led exercise stress testing, left and right heart catheterisation, brady-PPM implant and follow-up, MIBI).
Desirable criteria
- High degree of knowledge in medical terminology
- Knowledge of transthoracic/ transesophogeal echo
- Knowledge of CRT/ICD implant and follow-up
