A very exciting opportunity has arisen! We now have a permanent band 5 post available in Huntingdon and Doddington. We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Band 5 to join our welcoming, passionate and forward-thinking Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Team. This post will be based at Hinchingbrooke Hospital but there may be a requirement to also work at Doddington Hospital.
This post is for a Band 5 physiotherapist, either experienced or newly qualified, looking to develop their career within MSK Physiotherapy in a dynamic and forward thinking, supportive team. We are looking for a clinician who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, likes working in a team and wants to provide the best they can to their patients. You will receive regular mentorship and clinical supervision to ensure that you maximise your personal potential within our team.
Will Accept Applicants obtaining HCPC registration in the next few months.
Main duties of the job
The musculoskeletal business unit is jointly led by a Clinical Leadership Team, Operational Managers and an experienced team of Clinical Specialists across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Our ethos is to provide a high quality, evidence based service in a friendly and supportive environment. We have a strong track record of innovation and service redesign. We have operated with self-referral since 2001 therefore can offer a wide range of patient groups and conditions to assess and treat. We are also actively involved in research at a local and national level. We promote continuous improvement and support staff through internal and external training as appropriate. Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Clinical
To be professionally and legally accountable and responsible for all aspects of your own work, including the management of patients in your care.
To ensure a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management.
To undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients making use of clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques.
To be responsible for the selection, implementation and evaluation of physiotherapy programmes, either individually, or in a group setting, based on a sound knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment skills.
To work within trust guidelines and CSP guidelines, and to have a good working knowledge of national and local standards monitoring the quality of own and others practice as appropriate.
To be responsible for maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient treatment records in line with CSP standards of practice.
To accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients and to organise this effectively with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.
To undertake clinical duties in a number of ways which may include face to face consultations, Physio Advice Line telephone consultations and group settings.
To work alongside band 4 Rehabilitation Instructors to deliver appropriate treatment and rehabilitation progression.
Professional
To maintain own clinical professional development by keeping abreast of new developments and incorporate them as necessary into your own work.
To demonstrate a sound understanding of Clinical Governance and Risk Management and apply to the work situation.
To be an active member of the in-service training programme by the attendance and presentation at staff meetings, tutorials, training sessions, external courses and reflective practice.
To participate in department/trust audits and evaluation of best practice as required.
To participate in the staff appraisal scheme and Personal development plan as an appraisee.
To undertake the measurement and evaluation of your work and current practices through the use and application of evidence-based practice, clinical audit, research and outcome measures.
To maintain own professional development and requirement to take part in appraisal and KSF process
Organisational
To plan, manage and prioritise own caseload and be responsible for assisting other team members their workload.
To decide priorities for own work area, balancing patient-related and professional demands.
To maintain accurate, comprehensive, and up to date documentation, in line with legal and departmental requirements.
To communicate assessment and treatment results to the appropriate disciplines in the form of reports and letters.
To be actively involved in the collection of appropriate data and statistics.
