The Analytics team at North West Anglia is looking toÌý recruit and Performance and Modelling Analyst to enhance the skills and capability of the team. This will be a key role in interrogating the drivers of the Trusts performance, identifying opportunities and working with a wide range of stakeholder to implement and monitor improvements.Ìý
Main duties of the job
- The role supports the business in driving recovery, reviewing robust information and leading on complex analysis tasks. This is an important, visible role within the Trust, providing key analysis to senior management and the exec to assist with understanding and controlling performance and development modelling.
- The job holder will actively promote the use of analytical methods, with a particular focus on modelling, Demand and Capacity analysis and benchmarking.
- Where required, will develop new solutions to best meet requirements.
- Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information, presenting information, to a wide range of stakeholders in a formal setting.
- Provision of data driven insight to senior team colleagues and exec directors to assist with decision making and optimising effective and efficient delivery of services.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to master level within a mathematical, statistical, economical or similar analytical discipline, or significant equivalent proven experience in specialist area
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Degree and/ or equivalent senior management experience
- Evidence of relevant continued professional development in specialist area
Desirable criteria
- PRINCE 2/MSP Practitioner / Foundation
- Membership of a Professional Body
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience of operational, clinical, financial or health care analysis work experience
- Significant data management, data-oriented programming and development work experience.
- Excellent data analysis skills, including. advanced Power BI/Tableau and Microsoft SQL Server skills (A)
- Experience of delivering data visualisation programs
- Evidence of leading projects from inception to delivery, ensuring services. and objectives are met.
- Significant budget management experience, including reducing costs, monitoring and determining corrective action.
- Significant knowledge and experience of designing and implementing data models to meet business questions.
- Significant experience and specialist knowledge of the application of NHS performance standards, including: ï‚· RTT Rules and Application ï‚· Rules and application of cancer standards ï‚· A&E 4 hour standard Detailed understanding of rules for elective recovery funding and reimbursement for activity
- Significant knowledge and experience of building and managing data flows in the organisation, connecting a range of systems and processes for example Diagnostic clinical systems ï‚· A&E clinical systems ï‚· The Trusts Patient Administration System ï‚· Workforce Management systems including ESR and Health Roster ï‚· Financial management systems including SBS
- Understanding of NHS Information Governance and regulatory needs (A/I)
- Relevant experience in supporting users with knowledge of NHS data reporting, data quality, performance management and Service Improvement (A/I)
- Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement(A/I)
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of Python or equivalent.
- Experience of Managing outputs and doing Quality Assurance when working with external teams and vendors
- Knowledge of performance and contract management systems

- Able to use techniques like segmentation and/ or clustering to better understand population being modelled/ identified.
- Ability to use informed persuasion to influence others.
- Technical skills in data management, business intelligence and analytics –including data modelling, data visualisation (e.g., Tableau, Business Objects, Power BI) and other supporting tools, e.g., Microsoft BI stack
- Familiarity with project management/development techniques such as Agile, Prince 2 and/ or MSP
- Ability to identify risks, anticipate issues and create solutions and to resolve problems in relation to project. or service delivery
- Ability to work without supervision, providing specialist advice to the organisation, working to tight and often changing timescales under pressure
- Analyse, interpret and implement national policy
- Demonstrable experience of directly managing, developing, motivating teams/individuals to ensure success.
- Experience of delivering against competing priorities and deadlines while also directing the work of teams/individuals
- Able to use task management tools like Asana, Microsoft Teams, JIRA etc, for complex quantitative and qualitative data
