Job overview

The post holder will be the line manager of our band 2 and band 3 administration and clerical staff, ensuring a high quality and comprehensive administrative service across maternity services.

The post holder will be responsible for working across various departments withinÌýmaternity, providing a senior administrative function for inpatient, intrapartum, outpatient and community teams.

To work closely with the teams to ensure effective communication, consistency and standardization of clerical and administration processes across the maternity, clinical business unit.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be the line manager of our band 2 and band 3 administration and clerical staff, ensuring a high quality and comprehensive administrative service across maternity services.

Take operational responsibility for the band 2 & band 3 administrative team, includingÌýresponsible for the allocation of their work with the support of the Maternity Administration Co-ordinator.

Work with line manager to promote safe working practices, ensuring compliance with roster KPI’s, including annual leave management and promoting a positive work-life balance for the team.

Develop, manage, and review staff, including completing performance appraisals, 1:1, training compliance and supporting professional development.

This role will mainly cover Hinchingbrooke Hospital site with the requirement to cover Peterborough site as required to support service provisionÌý

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Level 3 qualification within relevant subject for role
Desirable criteria
  • Level 4 qualification within relevant subject for role
  • Qualification in Information Technology

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience in administration and clerical roles >2years
  • Experience of line management
  • Experience of working in the NHS or healthcare setting
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of using Careflow, e-track, Evolve, Epro/Scrik/Anglia Ice, K2

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrate good standard of written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrates a good understanding of customer care
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
  • Knowledge and understanding of Global Data Protection Regulations and confidentiality

Key Skills

Essential criteria
  • Competent IT skills including Microsoft packages
  • Understanding of policies and procedures relating to role
  • Prioritise own workload and competing demands to meet service needs and tight deadlines
