We are seeking a caring and compassionate Housekeeper to join the friendly and supportive team on Bay Tree Ward at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. This part-time role (32.18 hours per week) is vital to the smooth running of the ward and provides an essential link between the ward and hospital support services.

Help us make a difference by supporting the day-to-day running of Bay Tree Ward and enhancing the patient experience.

Main duties of the job

  • Meet and greet patients and visitors, ensuring up-to-date knowledge of patient needs.
  • Maintain a high standard of tidiness and cleanliness across the ward, addressing emergencies, spills and post-infectious cleaning.
  • Monitor and maintain ward supplies, linen, and specialist equipment, ensuring safe storage and functionality.
  • Liaise with various departments for stock, equipment, or facility issues and assist with transportation of supplies, documentation, and patients when required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the ward kitchen, including drinks trolleys and dishwashers.
  • Assist patients with menu selection and ensure timely delivery and collection of meal trays.
  • Ensure food and beverages are served at the correct temperature and in line with food hygiene regulations.
  • Provide appropriate support to patients during meal times, including preparing food and specialised cutlery/crockery as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of refrigerator temperatures and food storage, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
