Job overview
We are looking for a credible, dynamic and caring Registered Nurse who is passionate about Dermatology care and who can work using their own initiative within our Dermatology outpatients department. We are looking for a strong leader who will deliver education and support to peers and those developing within the service. We would welcome applicants who hold either and Adult and/or Paediatric Nursing Registration.
We would also welcome applications from those who aspire to work in this specialist area and will consider a developmental role as band 6 while specialist and educational needs are attained.Ìý
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a registered healthcare professional who has experience in managing patient caseloads independently and who will workÌýclosely with Consultant Dermatologists, Dermatology Nurse Specialists, Skin Cancer Nurse Specialists, Administrative Staff and the wider healthcare professional colleagues, to provide a high standard of individualised care.
The post holder will offer specialist support, advice, guidance and treatments to the patients while also monitoring the risk to patients on waiting lists. It would advantageous to have a prescribing qualification although this is not essential.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Our established Dermatology Team provides a variety of services in a Nurse Led outpatient setting, including Phototherapy, patch testing, managing case load of patients with chronic inflammatory dermatosis including psoriasis and eczema, systemic and biologic treatments assessments and monitoring, chronic urticaria and management, paediatric skin conditions.
ÌýIt is essential that the successful post holder will have extensive experience of working within the Dermatology specialty and demonstrate excellent communication skills underpinned by both the professional and Trust values.Ìý
The successful applicant must be able to work across the sites at NWAFT

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse
- Degree in Nursing or equivalent
- Non-Medical Prescriber or willingness to undertake
- Management and/ or leadership qualification
- Enthusiasm for learning and ongoing professional development
Desirable criteria
- Master's Degree in relevant field
- Post graduate study in teaching, mentorship and/ or coaching
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of senior role within acute hospital setting Band 6 or above
- Involvement in change management process within a clinical environment
- Detailed experience in facilitation/ teaching/ assessing/ coaching
- Evidence in both autonomous practice and MDT working
- Engagement in Audit and Quality Assurance processes
- Competent and effective in IT skills
Desirable criteria
- Experience of staff management
Skills
Essential criteria
- High emotional intelligence
- Expert clinical skills in speciality
- Confident in evidence based clinical decisions making, as an independent practitioner and within the MDT
