Hywel Dda University Health Board has an exciting opportunity for a static Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist in trauma & orthopaedics. ÌýThe post is based in Withybush General Hospital, Pembrokeshire.
The post holder will need to have significant experience in trauma & orthopaedics and rehabilitation, with an ability to contribute to the development of team. They will be supporting the delivery of rehabilitation for falls, frailty, and Major Trauma Network patients. ÌýWhilst the focus of the role will be on the acute ward, there is an expectation that the role will include working collaboratively with the community team in Pembrokeshire to facilitate appropriate treatment pathways as required.Ìý They will need to demonstrate leadership skills and multidisciplinary working, with a passion to achieve the best possible outcome for their clients and the desire for service improvement.Ìý
The post holder will be required to participate in the provision of on call respiratory service and future developments in 7 day working.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a team delivering rehabilitation in a busy Orthopaedic inpatient setting. The post holder will be expected to be an autonomous practitioner providing specialist assessment clinical reasoning skills and managing a complex caseload daily. The case load will consist of complex orthopaedic trauma patients including the Major Trauma Network pathway and could include medical and respiratory patients at times.
The role includes the opportunity to provide teaching for staff members to upskill and participate in the weekend orthopaedic service. It also offers the opportunity to provide supervision and teaching to support workers, Band 5’s and students alike.Ìý
Whilst the main focus of the role will be based in Withybush Hospital, there is an expectation to work flexibly alongside other services in Pembrokeshire.
The post holder will be required to have the skills to participate in the Respiratory on-call service. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
As part of the role, you will require extensive experience and expertise in the principles, standards, and delivery of inpatient rehabilitation with demonstrable knowledge of managing complex caseloads.
