An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Band 3 Respiratory healthcare Assistants to join the community Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist team in Pembrokeshire. We are looking for two experienced healthcare assistants who have a passion for/experience of respiratory nursing.
Each post is part-time (30 hours) and is fixed term for one year.Ìý One to cover North and one to cover South Pembrokeshire.Ìý

Main duties of the job
The primary focus of the role is to support the Respiratory Nurse in providing a spirometry clinic service within the community, delivering accurate and comprehensive spirometry to ensure accurate diagnosis for patients leading to appropriate treatments. Excellent verbal/written communication and organisational skills are essential for this role.
The respiratory nursing team provide specialist nursing knowledge and skills for people diagnosed with respiratory conditions. They provide multidisciplinary care planning and care interventions designed to reduce hospital admissions, with the ultimate aim of improving patient outcomes. The team work closely with respiratory consultants, multi-professional respiratory colleagues, primary care, and community based nursing teams/services.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Relevant NVQ / Diploma at level 3 or equivalent experience and articulates commitment to working towards achieving this level of qualification within two years of appointment
- Numeracy and literacy to at least GCSE level or equivalent
- Record of professional development

- Knowledge of respiratory conditions
Experience
Essential criteria
- Recent experience of working within a relevant health, social care, third or independent sector service environment.
Desirable criteria
- Recognise the importance of the Fundamentals of Care to the patient/client & of enabling patient/client to optimise independence
- Experience of caring for people with respiratory conditions acute or community
- Experience of working as a health & care support worker.
