We are seeking dynamic, motivated and ambitious individuals who will enhance our established and expanding team of consultant paediatricians.Ìý You will play a vital role in the delivery of healthcare for Children and Young People across the Morecambe Bay Footprint with the ability to work independently, but within a supportive, forward thinking and collaborative team.Ìý

An area of special interest to complement those already available in the Department is welcomed and can be discussed. We are particularly interested in candidates with an interest in Paediatric Neurology/Epilepsy and would support the pursuit of a SPIN module if required. We would also support candidates in developing a special interest in these areas if that interest is new to them.

Main duties of the job

Royal Lancaster Infirmary provides a 1:8 on-call, to cover both the acute paediatric service and the Local Neonatal Unit, where we operate a separate consultant of the week model for both the paediatric ward and the neonatal unit.

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical Care units and various Consultant-led services.
