We have a vacancy for enthusiastic Band 6, Specialised Podiatrist to join our brilliant podiatry team in the Amber Valley/Erewash / Derby City and South Dales.

As well as direct patient care and treatment planning for patients with complex needs you will work with a wide variety of patient types which may include working with Multi-Disciplinary Teams in acute trusts.

The post will require flexibility and ability to work across sites and teams according to service needs and therefore transport will be essential.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To be part of a highly motivated team, providing a high standard of clinical care.
  • To assess, diagnose, develop and implement individualised care packages in order to maximize ulcer prevention 听for patients with a wide variety of clinical needs, including acute or chronic neuropathies, chronic disease, vascular problems and wound management.
  • The post holder will also be expected to plan and manage their own caseload, which will include providing specialist care to patients with diabetes, rheumatological and biomechanics.
  • As part of the Podiatry Team and Wider Trust, contribute to the development and adhere to the Podiatry Department and Trust policies, strategies and objectives.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree or Diploma in Podiatry
  • Registrant of Health Care Professional Council (HCPC)
  • Local Anaesthesia Certificate
  • Participating in CPD

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Post Graduate experience
  • Evidence of clinical development following graduation
  • Able to assess, diagnose, implement and evaluate for a wider range of clinical needs
  • Ability to assess Diabetic patients
  • Experience of minor surgical procedures

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Able to demonstrate highly specialised physical skills
  • Able to liaise with and share care with other Health Care Professionals

Car Driver

Essential criteria
  • Car driver with a full driving licence or the ability to travel across loaction during the working day
