Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Patient Services Department which is within the facilities division.Ìý ÌýWe are looking to grow our already successful catering team, to work at the newly built Derwent unit which is part of Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation Trust that is located in the grounds of Chesterfield Royal hospital.

The successful candidate will be a great team player, who can work within our onsiteÌýÌýÌý kitchens at Derwent and can help the teams to deliver a fantastic food service to our service users within this newly developed unit. They will be a great communicator and have the ability to think on their feet. The role will include basic kitchen duties as well as assisting with the food service to ensure a seamless delivery to our customer.

Other duties include ensuring all kitchen areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner whilst meeting the required specified standards in line with our policies.Ìý You will be responsible for ensuring patient’s meals are served efficiently and that the food quality served meets the required specification, in line with Trust policy.

The hours of work are: - 11:00 - 18:30 (7.0 hours) x 3 days week one/ 4 days week two.

The Rota will be based on 2 week rota, working 3 days one week, 4 days the following week.Ìý You will be required to work alternative weekends and bank holidays.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the job include:

Ìý

-ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý To provide a customer focused service.

-ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Cleaning of crockery, pots and pans. using a dishwashing machine and manually washing.

-ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Preparation of hot and cold food items, and other meals or functions.

-ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý To adhere to safe working practices in all aspects of hygiene management.

-ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý To adhere to safe working practices in all aspects of risk management and security.

-ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Carry out general and specialised cleaning tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures.

-ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý To ensure compliance with in COSHH, HACCP and all Trust policies relevant

-ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý to the post particularly with regard to the food hygiene policy'

-ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý The loading and unloading of ovens and food trolleys

  • To be able to read and understand to the required standard.

Experience
