Advanced Integration Engineer

As an Advanced Integration Engineer you willÌý
be a Technical lead for the development andÌý
management of integration services forÌý
University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust’sÌý
clinical and business systems ensuring thatÌý
all integration services are effectivelyÌý
planned, specified, implemented andÌý
maintained.
This role will support the Integration TeamÌý
Manager with the project management of theÌý
functional areas identified above in relation toÌý
all IT projects undertaken by UHP and assistsÌý
with the planning and delivery of the OneÌý
Devon EPR programme, Integrated CareÌý
Partnership, ICS and other regional initiativesÌý
(e.g. Shared Care Record).
This role is specialised in nature and the postÌý
holder is expected to be very knowledgeableÌý
and skilled in healthcare integrationÌý
standards, protocols, development andÌý
technical management.
***Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.***

·ÌýManages the design and development of the Trust integration architecture using the latest technologies e.g Intersystems Healthshare Health Connect, Epic Bridges, XML and HL7 under the guidance of the Integration Manager.
·ÌýManages the day-to-day operation of the existing integration architecture providing issue rectification as required.
·ÌýParticipates in the development of new strategic methods for information delivery using latest methodologies.
·ÌýAdvises on and supports the processes and systems to ensure that datasets are available to support the statutory reporting requirements of the Trust.
·ÌýAdvises on and supports the development of robust operational processes across the department in line with audit requirements.
·ÌýAdvises on and supports the software development life cycle incorporating full documentation to support change control mechanisms and audit requirements.
·ÌýThe post holder will be required to communicate externally with systems suppliers, developers and NHS staff, as well as internally with both ICT and clinical staff at all levels.
·ÌýSupports the Integration Team Manager in the delivery of the One Devon EPR Programme.
·ÌýSupports the Integration Team Manager in the delivery of national IM&T initiatives to support the National Programme.
·ÌýSupervises staff on a day-to-day basis within a matrix management model of service delivery.
·ÌýTo deputise for the Integration Team Manager as required through a range of responsibilities within the Trust’s D&I management arrangements.
·ÌýTo assist the Integration Team Manager in the development of the service to support and enhance the continual quality initiative ensuring a ‘quality first’ approach to all aspects of work.
·ÌýTo be familiar with and adhere to the relevant Health & Safety and other organisational policies in force within the Plymouth Healthcare Community.
·ÌýTo undertake other duties as designated by the Integration Team Manager.
·ÌýTo manage the design, development and implementation of new integration architecture for the Plymouth Healthcare Community.Ìý This is a complex undertaking that requires detailed technical analysis, interpretation and comparison with a range of possible outcomes. The planning and implementation of new interfaces will require the management of a significant number of complex activities and will necessitate instigating changes across a number of systems and specialties.
·ÌýTo manage the development of the integration architecture including the testing and implementation of modifications and enhancements.Ìý This will involve liaising with external agencies, clinical users and IT staff.
·ÌýTo support the Integration Team Manager on the development of new integration technology, concepts and practices.
·ÌýTo acquire and maintain a knowledge of SQL Server and its associated technologies.
·ÌýTo manage the design and development of the database aspects of the systems used within the SDI (Software Development & Integration) department.
·ÌýTo manage the maintenance and future enhancement of the database aspects of the systems used within the SDI department.
·ÌýManages the database administration function for relational database management systems used within the SDI department.
·ÌýTo participate in the development of new strategic methods for information delivery using latest methodologies.
·ÌýTo manage the process which ensure that the datasets are available to support the statutory reporting requirements of the Trust.
·ÌýTo take the lead in the guidance of SDI SQL and Integration staff and assistants to develop their database management skills.
·ÌýTo manage the development of robust operational processes across the Technology Department in line with audit requirements.
·ÌýTo manage the compliance to standards in respect of database functions which underpin the software development life cycle incorporating full documentation to support change control mechanisms and audit requirements.
·ÌýTo acquire and maintain a knowledge of the database structures within the SQL Server systems in use within the Trust.
