Job overview

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic band 5 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to join our team and take advantage of the fantastic developmental opportunities on offer. A successful candidate will work in an outpatient physiotherapy clinic assessing, diagnosing and treating a variety of musculoskeletal disorders from a range of sources including GP, orthopaedic and self-referrals.Ìý

Given the development opportunities available; this post is suitable for newly qualified and existing band 5 clinicians. Candidates will rotate between St. Richard’s Hospital Chichester and Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital

This position offers:

Development

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Monthly one to one supervision sessions to guide personal and professional development

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Monthly group supervision with other B5 staff in the team, facilitated by a B7/B8a

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Monthly departmental teaching sessions and journal clubs.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Capacity to participate in service-wide development projects.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Scope to frequently work alongside Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners from the neighbouring MSK service. This presents a rare opportunity for outpatient physiotherapists to directly access a wealth of knowledge and experience on a regular basis and provides a fantastic platform for clinical development.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Collaboration with consultant-led Chronic Pain and Rheumatology services.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Access to gym and hydrotherapy pool-based exercise rehabilitation facilities

West Sussex is an area of natural beauty surrounded by the South Downs National Park and bordered by the beautiful south coastline, highlighted by the Witterings beach. This location is perfect for someone who enjoys the outdoors. It also has strong transport links to Brighton, London, Southampton and Portsmouth.

To manage a caseload of patients with a variety of conditions.

ÌýTo formulate and deliver an individual treatment programme based on aÌý
sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment and reasoning skills.Ìý

To complete the SCFT Preceptorship programme through regular supervision and professional support (staff in their first year post-qualification)

To work effectively as a team member in providing and facilitating a high standard of personalised therapeutic and rehabilitative support.Ìý

To provide assessments that appropriately inform therapy, social andÌý
rehabilitative pathways taking account of the fluctuating needs of the patient and assist in evaluating the outcomes.Ìý

ÌýFormulate and deliver a personalised treatment programme based on a sound knowledge of evidence-based practice and treatment options using specific clinical assessment, reasoning skills and knowledge of treatment skills.Ìý

To report and document variances in a patient’s condition or planned pathway of care.Ìý
