Trust Security Manager

An opportunity for an experienced Manager in Healthcare Security and car parking to Join The Humber Health Partnership. We are seeking a dynamic, forward thinking individual who can demonstrate results, knowledge and experience from a healthcare or similar setting.ÌýÌý

Responsible for the management of physical security across Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Managing an outsourced contract (circa £1.5m), a small in-house team of NHS staff.

The post holder will act as a subject matter expert on healthcare security and violence prevention and reduction.Ìý
This role is also responsible for parking and traffic management across the Trust.

Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HUTH would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.

This Security Manager role at Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the evolving security landscape within the recently formed Humber Health Partnership. This group formation and partnership provides a valuable platform for collaborative working with Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG), fostering the sharing of best practices and enhancing security processes. This role will be instrumental in strengthening the security framework of HUTH while contributing to broader regional security considerations.

The position will involve engaging in collaborative discussions and peer reviews with security professionals across both HUTH and NLAG, within the context of the Humber Health Partnership. This collaborative approach will enable the identification of opportunities for improvement and the development of enhanced security protocols. The Security Manager will play a key role in implementing new measures to strengthen accountability.Ìý

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree Level Management Qualification (Level 5 or above on the NQF)
  • Formal Security Management Qualification (physical security/risk management)
Desirable criteria
  • Postgraduate qualification relevant to the post (e.g. Healthcare Leadership & Management, Risk Management, FM etc.)
  • Health and Safety Qualification (at Level 3 or above)
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • SIA Licence (front line / CCTV/ or non-front line)
  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or equivalent)
  • Level 2 Award in Parking Enforcement
  • Level 3 Award in Notice Processing

Skills, Knowledge, Ability

Essential criteria
  • Working Knowledge of the Private Security Industry
  • Ability to prioritise conflicting priorities
  • Skilled in negotiation in difficult circumstances
  • Able to digest information quickly and formulate credible plans based on sound judgement and methodology.
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of Project Management methodology (such as Agile or PRINCE2)
  • Knowledge of risk management methodologies.

Other Requirements

Essential criteria
  • Full Professional Membership of an industry body (e.g. MSyl, MBPA, MIWFM etc)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of assisting, or supporting the managing of Security in a complex environment (comparable to an NHS Acute Trust)
  • Experience of Contract Specification and Contract Management (of either FM or Security)
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of managing Parking Operations on private land
  • Experience in managing risk reduction within the public-facing, corporate environment.
  • Experience managing of Security in a complex environment (comparable to an NHS Acute Trust)
