Job overview

We are looking to recruit an experienced clinical coder & summariser to complement our existing team. This role would suit someone who is looking for an opportunity to develop their existing coding & summarising skills as the main responsibilities of the post-holder will be to triage both incoming hardcopy and electronic post, work-flowing to the GPs as appropriate. They will need to code relevant information from patients’ clinical records into the practice SystmOne system, working strictly in accordance with practice protocols, with the highest levels of accuracy and attention to detail.Ìý

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone who has excellent verbal and written communication skills, and who is proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. Experience in SystmOne / Snomed coding & summarising is essential, as is attention to detail, speed and efficiency.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Level 3 in Business Administration or Customer Service or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Word processing to RSA 2 standard of European Computer Driving License (EDCL) or able to demonstrate appropriate level of skill

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Comprehensive knowledge of a range of routine administration procedures
  • Knowledge of a range of software programmes, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Previous experience of working in an office environment and carrying out general officer procedures
  • Experience of SystmOne functions
  • Previous Primary Care experience
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of clinical coding
  • Previous experience of working with general public
  • Knowledge of other Microsoft packages
