Band 6 Pelvic Health Physiotherapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Physiotherapist to join our dynamic Pelvic Health team at Broomfield Hospital. We are currently seeking a part time band 6 Physiotherapist to join our small friendly team.

You will be managing your own interesting and varied caseload, providing the assessment of patients with diverse presentations including peri-natal, gynaecology, urology and colorectal referrals in an outpatient setting. You must be able to work autonomously and manage your time efficiently, as well as supporting assistant staff and students.

You will be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and hold a Degree in physiotherapy. You would ideally have previous experience working with a pelvic health caseload.

Main duties of the job

We deliver a wide range of pelvic health services, including continence assessment and management, pelvic pain management and ante & post-natal MSK assessment and management. This post is ideal for those wanting to expand their pelvic health practice in a supportive environment with the support of our highly skilled service lead and the wider MSK Outpatient Team.

You will have excellent communication skills and be interested in personal and service development. You will be expected to maintain a clinical caseload and provide supervision to junior members of staff and students. You will be actively participating in clinical teaching and in-service training sessions, whilst delivering a high standard of patient-centred clinical care. You will be expected to support Band 7 clinicians and take an active role in service improvement and audit.

Whilst the role will primarily be based within an outpatient setting, there will be the need to support on post-labour ward and delivery suites. Helping to support during times of sickness or annual leave.听

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy
Desirable criteria
  • Member of specialist Physiotherapy group e.g. POGP
  • Member of the CSP
  • POGP course - Physiotherapy assessment and management of musculoskeletal conditions during and after pregnancy
  • Clinical Educators course
  • POGP course - Pelvic Health Physiotherapy: Female urinary dysfunction - an entry level course
  • POGP course - Pelvic Health Physiotherapy: Lower bowel dysfunction - an entry level course

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous women's & men's pelvic health Physiotherapy experience
  • Experience of audit and research
  • Working knowledge of broad range of pelvic health conditions
Desirable criteria
  • Supervision of junior staff and assistants
  • Previous MSK outpatient rotation
  • Experience running patient education classes
