Job overview
Act as team leader for the efficient clinical delivery and development of the Adult Audiology Service comprising routine and complex adult rehabilitation, tinnitus and potentially in the future, a vestibular service. Deputise for the Head of Adult Audiology in their absence. As required, work in with the Paediatric Department, for those who would like to maintain an interest in Paediatrics, this is very possible in our department as we work closely together.
Main duties of the job
- To provide an effective Adult Audiology service to PAH Trust, within departmental protocols.
- To communicate effectively with patients, relatives, peers, clinicians, and other staff throughout the organisation
- To maintain the principles of patient confidentiality at all times
- To work as part of a team
- To work with minimal supervision.
- To support and supervise student Audiologists
- To work towards IQIPS accreditation
- To plan and prioritise own workload
- To work flexibly to cover evening and weekend sessions withinÌýcontracted hours
- To be pro-active in own self-development and maintain record of CPD
- To use computerised and manual methods to update patient records for each examination
- To take an active role in the implementation of IT and AudiologyÌý projects, such as the implementation of AlexHealth / CERNER and manage existing PMS, Auditbase.
- To participate in departmental QA and Audit programmes.

- BSc or equivalent in Audiology
- Experience of teaching in the NHS
- Specialism in at least 1 area of Advanced Audiology (Electrophys, Vestib, Tx, Paeds)
