This is a great opportunity for any one looking for a new and exciting role within Haematology-Oncology. Based at our lovely chemotherapy unit/ infusion suite at Orsett Hospital in Grays, Essex we offer a 10 chair chemotherapy treatment area as well as a 5 chair infusion suite.

A successful candidate should be Chemotherapy/ Systemic Anti Cancer Therapy trained and competent and well versed in the field of haematology in order to not only deliver high quality SACT care but to also lead the unit as a clinical education practice facilitator.Ìý

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this job includes:

Delivering robust, high quality and safe SACT care to haemato-oncology patientsÌý
Acting as Practice Education Facilitator for the unit, ensuring standards of practice are maintained throughout the department in line with national standards/ guidelines.
Guiding/ Supporting Staff in all aread of clinical practice
Ensuring all staff are practicing at the highest level of care

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide clinical advice, guidance and support for staff.
2. Support staff through the revalidation process, ensuring sufficient, CPD is undertaken,Ìý
reflection against the Code takes place, feedback is received from service users andÌý
that the portfolio is confirmed as accurate.
3. Contribute to the review of policies, procedures and setting of standards.
4. Ensure that all staff are aware of and adhere to all trust policies and procedures.Ìý
5. Report and investigate clinical incidents and accidents in accordance with trust policy.
6. Collect statistical information and carry out audits as required in relation to all aspects ofÌý
education – i.e. educational audit.
7. Participate in the provision of orientation and induction programmes for all new staf
8. Develop staff to undertake extended roles within their scope of professional practiceÌý
ensuring competency is achieved.
9. Participate in the development of multi-disciplinary clinical protocols, policies,Ìý
procedures, that reflect the nursing/midwifery strategies i.e. NSF, NICE
10.Ensure professional nursing standards are maintained in accordance with NMC CodeÌý
of Professional Conduct.
11.Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and be aware of its implications.
12.To participate in, and support research trials, clinical audit and practice development
