Main duties of the job
The main purpose of this role is to support service users to establish greater control over their lives, helping to identify aspects of life that give meaning, hope, value and purpose whilst recognizing that each individual鈥檚 recovery is a distinctive and deeply personal process.
As an integral and valued member of a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team working in Essex, you will provide support to individuals within the service by role modelling and using your lived experience to support service users and guide the service in being more person centered.

Our EPUT NHS staff bank is an entity managed by the trust that hires clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals to take on shifts at our trust hospitals and community settings. Here at EPUT we maintain our own bank of specialist staff to ensure that we are able offer safe and effective care at all times.
All our permanent staff are automatically enrolled onto the staff bank however this does not mean you have to work any additional shifts, but the option is there for you if you wish.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Level of educational attainment to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Completion of own Wellness Recovery Action Plan ( WRAP) or whole life plan
Desirable criteria
- Willingness to undertake further training in line with the development of peer support
- Related Health or Social care qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of working in a Peer Support Worker role.
- Lived Experience of mental health challenges, recovery and wellness planning.
