Main duties of the job

The Urology service at University Hospital Southampton are delighted to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with the team as the Urology Service Manager.Ìý

The Urology team is a large busy multi-disciplinary team who are dedicated to delivering high quality specialist care to patients across the Wessex Region for services including urological cancers, urinary tract stone disease and complex adult benign surgery.Ìý
Ìý
The successful candidate will work closely with the urology clinical and nursing lead in delivering service improvement to support in the delivery of national targets for RTT, cancer and diagnostic pathways. Ìý

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The role will work closely with both the clinical teams and care group management team to help deliver on both the outpatient and theatre transformation programs, as well as the national GIRFT program and have oversight of urology performance delivery. The role will work closely with teams across the trust including support services, theatres and the cancer centre, fostering strong relationships in order to achieve this.Ìý

We are looking for someone who is a team player looking to integrate and work with a team who are keen to transform their services to provide the best care they can for their patients. You'll need to be motivated, dynamic, confident and have strong leadership skills with a passion for inspiring teams toward success.Ìý

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

Essential criteria
  • First degree/equivalent professional qualification/equivalent experience
  • Leadership training
  • Management training
  • Training and experience to Masters’ or equivalent level/post graduate level study
  • Project Management qualification / further training or demonstrates substantial level of project delivery experience
  • Consolidated experience to demonstrate capability and capacity for management of health services at a senior level
Desirable criteria
  • Previous proven experience in a healthcare setting
