An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic nurse with a passion for cancer to join our lung cancer CNS teamÌý
The successful candidateÌý will act as a specialist resource to facilitate and co-ordinate the holistic care of patients with lung cancer in the Trust and to provide a high standard service.ÌýÌý
The Band 6 role is a key supporting function to the wider team to enable the optimal care of our patients and to the success of our Trust.Ìý The delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate care is the most important role within the organisation.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
- To ensure the lung cancer patient journey is patient centred, evidence based with excellent communication between all those involved.
- Where necessary, or when requested, to act as the patient advocate.
- To provide individualised, written and verbal, support & advice around referral to lung cancer clinic, and pre-diagnosis investigations.
- To provide individualised, written and verbal, support and information to patients, their families and carers before, and following, a diagnosis of lung cancer or mesothelioma including the utilisation of an Holistic Needs Assessment.
- To support patients during consideration of treatment options.
- To track the patient’s progress along the cancer journey across all areas of healthcare, acting as a liaison between healthcare professionals.

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides one service from multiple locations including our own three hospitals.Ìý Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital (BNHH) and Royal Hampshire County Hospital (RHCH) both provide a full range of planned and emergency services including accident and emergency, general and specialist surgery, general medicine, intensive care, rehabilitation, chemotherapy, diagnostic services, maternity, neonatal, gynaecology, paediatric care and outpatient clinics. Andover War Memorial Hospital (AWMH) provides community and hospital services including a minor injuries unit, outpatient clinics, diagnostic imaging, day surgery, rehabilitation and maternity services

- • Mentorship/ teaching qualification
- • Diploma or degree level education or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, or employment experience

- • Advanced communication skills training
Experience & Knowledge
