Urgent Eye Admin Assistant and Secretary Support

Job overview
The Ophthalmology Department are looking for an organised individual to join the Urgent Eye Administration Team, working alongside the clinical team to help deliver this emergency service efficiently. This is a fast paced environment so you would need to work well under pressure.Ìý
Main duties of the job
Manage and monitor patients through their treatment pathway ensuring compliance to RTT and local waiting time Standards.
Act as first point of contact on behalf of the consultant and the Trust and deal effectively with all enquiries from GPs, patients, other departments within the Trust and all other departments, in line with Trust Values.

Essential criteria
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
- NVQ Level 2, RSA Level 3 or equivalent.
Desirable criteria
- Computer literate
Skills
Essential criteria
- Experience in use of computer systems.
- Ability to liaise with general public and medical staff and other health professionals
- To be flexible in working pattern
- Advanced keyboard skills, with knowledge of Microsoft products.
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of PAS system, tracking and requesting notes
- Previous experience of working within a busy administrative environment
- Medical terminology
