Main duties of the job
The Swale Community Paediatrics Service manages children with a range of clinical presentations which include:
Neurodevelopmental and neurodisability
Behavioural disorders including; Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and ADHD
This a 10 PA role where the successful applicant will play a crucial role in leading the team to continue to deliver a high standard of care as well as providing strategic lead in driving service improvement in the context of recent changes to commissioning landscape. The latter promises to improve the integration of patient care across providers and allied organisation in the domain of community child health. The post holder will be accountable to the Clinical Director for the Children and Young People Care Group.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
- to provide Community paediatric care in out-patient services (without need for out of hours cover.)
- to provide Community Paediatric care as part of a multidisciplinary team
- by arrangement to cover colleagues during periods of annual and study leave
- administrative duties include those associated with the care of the patients and the running of the clinical department
- help in the supervision and teaching of nursing and junior medical staff
- participate actively in quality improvement activity/ clinical audit and implement its results
- the post-holder will undertake, exceptionally, to perform additional duties in emergency and unforeseen circumstances as are essential for continuity of patient care
- abiding by the clinical and corporation governance policies of the Trust
Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MRCPCH or equivalent. Full GMC registration.
- On the GMC specialist register or within 6 months of CCT or CESR-CP in Paediatrics.
Desirable criteria
- Higher degree (Ms, MD, PhD)
- DCH, MBA or any other relevant diplomas.
- CCT or equivalent of subspeciality in Community Child Health
Experience
Essential criteria
- Achieved competencies relating to General Paediatric Training.
- Achieved competencies equivalent to higher specialist Peadiatric
- Training including 3 years in Community child health.
Desirable criteria
- Experinece in other areas realting to community child health including: Gp, child mental health, public health, Peadiatric neurology or neurodisability, eneuresis management and sleep disorders.
Knowledge and skills
Essential criteria
- Work unsupervised and make descisions
- Skilled in working with multidisciplinary teams. Achieve level 3 competencies in community child health.
Desirable criteria
- Lead multidisciplinary teams.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
