The new consultant will have leadership responsibility to progress governance within the neonatal department, and a clinical neonatal sub-speciality interest which would complement those areas already covered by the current consultants.
An interest in neonatal respiratory conditions will be a welcome addition to the existing expertise within the team. The post holder will lead clinically on all aspects of infant and neonatal respiratory conditions.
This includes supporting the development of clinical guidelines in neonatal respiratory care and introducing a care bundle to reduce BPD in preterm babies.
All consultants are actively involved in research projects that are undertaken on the unit. Educational supervision of junior doctors/ANNP is shared between consultants.
