We are recruiting for Cook at Tonbridge Cottage Hospital, 37.5 hours per week, working a two week rotaÂ
Supervision and Catering experience within the NHS is welcome though not essential. A full induction andÂ
Weekends and Bank Holidays attract Enhanced rates of pay.

Main duties of the job
This is primarily a hands-on supervision role where you will work alongside and with your teams.
You will learn all the back-ground skills and knowledge to enable you to complete the full role, e.g. foodÂ

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in catering or equivalent (e.g. BTEC diplomas, Certificates and Awards, International Baccalaureate diploma) or equivalent demonstrable experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of working in a catering environment Previous staff supervision experience Previous experience of using Microsoft Software packages eg:: Outlook, Word and Excel Good Organisational skills Drive and enthusiasm. Pleasant and helpful disposition Able to work alone or as part of a team. To be able to work under pressure in an unpredictable environment Ability to manage and motivate people Ability to present information well both in writing and verbally Planning and communication skills to think strategically and logically and to apply concepts to operational issues Working in a team environment
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working within a Health and Social care setting Understanding of NHS Community Services Basic experience of a financial system. 2/3 years work based cooking experience.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of Quality Monitoring Procedures. Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations, Knowledge of Estates and Facilities services Knowledge of NHS standards and legislation in relation to the provision of facilities services Sound knowledge of infection prevention and control Knowledge of HACCP and Allergens
