We are seeking an inspiring Specialist Doctor to join our innovative Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) team. In this pivotal role, you will work alongside the SDEC Lead, spearheading clinical excellence and fostering development with our ACP and Clinical Fellow workforce. You will drive exceptional improvements, building on the outstanding progress achieved over the past 12 months. The Specialist Doctor is a key member of the Urgent Care Management team, enabling the delivery of outstanding services in accordance with agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, controls and resource constraints as set out in the divisional business plan

Main duties of the job

Main Job Purpose:

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Provide senior clinical cover across SDEC

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Develop robust clinical streams, alongside colleagues, aimed at safe patient care, experience and efficiency.

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Oversight of budgets for advanced practice within the directorate

·ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý Contribute to trust wide strategies surrounding performance and improvement.

  • Demonstrates expert interpersonal skills in caring for patients and their families.
  • Demonstrates expert clinical knowledge and skills in assessing and caring for patients and their families.

Able to analyse, synthesise and action highly complex clinical information and situations to benefit the patients and families

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • MB BCh/ MB BS qualification
  • Completion of basic medical training
Desirable criteria
  • Postgraduate qualification (PhD, MPhil, Msc or equivalent)
  • Completion of higher training

Teaching & Audit

  • Teaching of junior medical staff
  • Ability and experience to teach clinical skills
  • Experience of supervising
Desirable criteria

Management

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of NHS management structure and principles of managing an NHS department
  • Prompt and competent completion of admin tasks
