One LSC is a new collaborative partnership shared service formed by the five NHS Trusts serving the Lancashire and South Cumbria population of 1.8 million people.Ìý We are a shared service run by the NHS, for the NHS and are hosted by East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust on behalf of the partner Trusts of the Lancashire and South Cumbria system.
One LSC stands for ‘One Lancashire and South Cumbria’ and reflects the Lancashire and South Cumbria System ambition to have one team serving Lancashire and South Cumbria in a joined-up way. ÌýIt is jointly run by the five Trusts as a collaborative partnership.

One LSC brings together the Digital, Data and Technology, Estates and Facilities, Finance, People Services and Procurement and Logistics services from each of the provider Trusts to create one central community of professionals. Your Impact:
As the Finance Transactions Manager, you will collaborate with the Financial Controller to ensure flawless management of debtors, creditors, payments, and receipts. Be the driving force behind proactive oversight of our shared service provider, ensuring seamless financial operations.
We are looking for a strong leader who can build strong relationships with internal and external Stakeholders, as well as having the ability to motivate and engage with their team to deliver consistent results and develop their skills to meet the challenges of the future.
Please note our current split is 40/60 for home/office based working.
Main duties of the job
You will provide support to the Financial Controller in ensuring that all aspects related to debtors, creditors, payments and receipts are accounted for and managed correctly, and engage in proactive oversight of the shared service provider, performing its function in relation to these areas.
There is the opportunity to get involved in project work and review/amend existing processes and procedures, suggesting improvements and helping manage change.
A thorough understanding of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable process will be required to ensure high levels of controls are maintained and the risk of loss to the Trust is minimised

- Provide overall management and supervision of all activitiesÌý
undertaken within the Accounts Payable (AP) function. - Provide overall management and supervision of all activitiesÌý
undertaken within the Accounts Receivable (AR) function. - Manage the delivery of the AP and AR teams duties and tasksÌý
required at month end within the required deadlines. - Responsible for preparing papers and performing calculations toÌý
support the creation of the Trust’s statutory annual report andÌý
accounts by the required deadlines. - Prepare information required to satisfy external reportingÌý
requirements within the required deadlines. - To be actively engaged in developing staff and within the teamÌý

Qualifications and Education
Essential criteria
- Minimum of 5 GCSE's at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- Working towards a professional qualification (CCAB) recognised body
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in finance within the NHS or comparable complex, large organisation
- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable management experience
- A proven track record in implementing and improving financial services functions
- Experienced in leading, managing and developing staffwithin available resources
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with a Shared Services provider
- Up to date knowledge of accounting procedures and financial aspects of NHS legislation and policies
