Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Physiotherapist to join the Lincolnshire Countywide Community Respiratory Team (CCRT). This could also be a band 5/6 development post for an experienced band 5 clinician who wishes to develop their respiratory skills and knowledge to become a future Respiratory Specialist.
We have full hours available for a QualifiedÌý PhysiotherapistÌý who has experience working with COPD and other chronic respiratory patients and has a passion to develop their existing knowledge and skills and shape the current existing service, continuing to raise the identity and provide high quality respiratory care throughout the community. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and conscientious practitioner to join the existing team on a permanent basis.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the Senior Respiratory SpecialistsÌý in their role, and they will plan, co-ordinate, deliver and evaluate Pulmonary Rehabilitation across designated sites. They will carry their own respiratory caseload of patients that require specialistÌý intervention, and perform respiratory and holistic assessment and high quality, effective evidence-based treatment of these patients with diverse, complex and multi-system pathologies. They will also provide assessment and treatment of patients requiring the Respiratory Virtual Ward, acute respiratory assessment, early and routine supported discharge, oxygen therapy and complex case management where and when appropriate. The post holder will also be professionally responsible for anyÌý staff working under them, providing clinical guidance.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The successful applicant will be part of our multi-disciplinary respiratory team which consists of Respiratory Nurse Specialists, Specialist Respiratory Practitioners, Respiratory Physiotherapy Specialists, Physiotherapy Assistants and Assistant Practitioners. You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You must be able to prioritize tasks and manage your time effectively and be able to work flexibly within the team and be confident in completing individual tasks.
The base for this post is flexible depending upon the successful applicant. This post requires that you have the ability to travel between locations to carry out your work and to attend training and meetings; daily access to transport is therefore essential. If you are motivated, enthusiastic, need a challenge and have respiratory physiotherapy background then we would like to hear from you.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy/OT/Nursing
- State Registration
- Evidence of post-graduate education in Respiratory Physiotherapy Care / Chronic Disease management
Desirable criteria
- Working towards a higher qualification in Respiratory care
- Member of relevant specialist interest group
- Completed Diploma or Masters
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
- Post graduate experience ideally in the fields of respiratory, exercise therapy and /or community care
- Experience of running group-based rehabilitation/exercise classes or willingness to learn
- Experience of leading In-service training sessions ,eg demonstrating techniques, explaining theory.
- Demonstrable experience of effective team working.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Experience of delivering patient education
Desirable criteria
- Previous community experience
- Experience of supervising staff/students.
- Leadership experience
- Involvement in projects/working groups.
- Previous experience of running a pulmonary rehab programme.
- Previous experience of working as Band 6
Knowledge, skills and aptitude
Essential criteria
- Clinical knowledge in the field of Respiratory Care
- Knowledge of the principles of Clinical and Information Governance and application within clinical practice
- Able to extract and utilise relevant evidence based data
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic IT skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Ability to cope in potentially stressful and distressing situations maintaining clinical judgement under pressure
- Ability to motivate self and others
Desirable criteria
- Commitment and enthusiasm towards the development of Respiratory Services
- Knowledge of national and international guidelines relevant to the role
- Working knowledge of audit and other evaluative measures
- Awareness of current issues affecting the profession and NHS
