As a District Nurse you will carry a caseload of complex patients and contribute to the management of the teams.

Main duties of the job
An opportunity has arisen for band 6 District Nurses to join the forward thinking District Nursing teams. We are part of the integrated Health and Social care teams within the community setting. You will need a sound understanding of the current Nursing and Health agenda, excellent communication skills and effective leadership and decision making skills. You will need to be an individual able to work autonomously whilst promoting a positive and supportive learning environment for team members and students.
Part of your daily managerial tasks will be to update or populate rosters, manage any sickness for the day, support the wider worforce and complete any projects required of you.
This posts will provide the opportunity to take forward the expanding role of community nursing within the multi-disciplinary integrated team to meet the long term conditions and end of life care agenda, linking and working closely with the GP鈥檚. It will be expected that you will have an understanding and commitment to the continuing development and modernisation of community nursing and must have effective communication and negotiation skills.
The post is suitable for a newly qualified District Nurse, who will gain caseload management skills and experience over a 6 month preceptorship period.

Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Specialist Practitioner Qualification in District Nursing
- Nurse Prescribing
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of further professional development.
- One year post degree clinical experience.
Occupational Experience

- Car Owner driver.
- Evidence of commitment to continued professional development.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
