Named GP Safeguarding Children

Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the South East London (SEL) ICB (Bromley) Safeguarding Team as a Named GP for Safeguarding Children and Young People, working across a collaborative team which encompasses a think family approach to safeguarding.Ìý

A key function of the role would be to continue developing the all age model of safeguarding across primary care.Ìý

Ìý

Main duties of the job

The principle responsibility of the Named GP Safeguarding Children role is to promote and embed safeguarding of children across the local health system and within general practice, as outlined in the NHS England Safeguarding Accountability and Assurance Framework 2024.

The Named GP will act as a professional source of specialist safeguarding children advice across Bromley Primary Care and will be required to work closely with the SEL ICB Designated Safeguarding Children Leads, Primary Care, NHS providers and Bromley Safeguarding Children's Partnership.

We welcome applications from GPs who have a keen interest in safeguarding who are looking to develop their knowledge of safeguarding children and young people in a supportive, well established experienced team.

Working for our organisation

The South East London Integrated Care System (ICS) brings together the health and care partners that serve our vibrant and highly diverse populations resident in the London boroughs of Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Greenwich - our Places.Ìý

Our partnership brings together six local authorities, over 200 general practices (operating within 35 Primary Care Networks), Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital NHS FT, King's College Hospital NHS FT, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, South London and the Maudsley Mental Health FT and Oxleas FT. Importantly, the ICS seeks to be connected to the communities we serve (circa 1.92m residents) and work with the widest possible range of community, voluntary and third sector groups and organisations in each borough. The reach of our NHS provider portfolios extends beyond the borders of the ICS, across London, the south of England and nationally for some services.Ìý

Our vision for the ICS is a highly performing, sustainable system that looks after its staff, responds to its communities and takes action to reduce the inequalities they experience.Ìý
