Croydon University Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, caring and motivated individualÌý to join the Theatre Team as a Theatre Practitioner .

We are interested in candidates withÌý some Theatre scrub experience , able to demonstrate a commitment to developing yourself and support other colleagues in variousÌý specialty.Ìý You will act as a role model for others,Ìý promoting best practice and delivery of high quality , patient centered care.

You will be rotated through the different specialties, includingÌý Emergency theatres, learning to become an expert in the patient care; team leading intraoperative /scrubbingÌý and making sure the patient's pathway is maintained throughout .

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will be part of the clinical team , who ensure that clinical care of the patients, and others service users , receive an efficient/effective quality of care.Ìý

Within this role you will be expected to work across both the Croydon Elective & EmergencyÌý Surgical Centre.

The Role Responsibilities' ÌýWill Be:

  • Prepare the Clinical area (theatres) to receive patients for surgical procedures.
  • Provide assistance in clinicalÌý area for immediate post -operative care when theÌý need arises .
  • Assist in the positioning / preparation of the patient as directed by the surgical team.
  • EnsureÌý that any specimens are correctly labelled and dispatched to the lab in the correct box provided .
  • Ensure all patient information is well documented on the IT systemÌý and everything is logged accurately on the correct system in accordance withÌý TrustÌý and departmental policy and procedure .
  • Ensuring infection control policy is adhered to.Ìý Ìý

  • Registered Nurse /ODP
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • UK Recognized registration

Desirable criteria
  • Number of year of experience in all different field eg Paediatrics
  • Intravenous therapy qualiciation

Experience

  • number of year experience in scrubbing for any specialty
  • Demonstrate up dated clinical knowledge in acute setting
  • Able to use own initiative in communicating difficult issues
