Job overview

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust are actively recruiting a Band 4 Therapy Assistant . We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and innovative individual to join our therapy department at King George Hospital working with our Rapid Response Team on the Beech Frailty Unit. The unit is an ED for those with frailty.
Working in a fast paced environment, you will have the opportunity to offer admin and clinical support to our therapists. As a Band 4 Therapy Assistant you will have the opportunity to build a strong set of skills such as assessing , treating and discharging patients allocated by the therapist.

Main duties of the job

To provide skilled routine, and non-routine, clinical and technical support to the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy team and clerical staff associated with the team.

To accept routine patient referrals as defined within the framework matrix, and assess and treat according to protocols and guidelines. To monitor patient progression, and make alterations to intervention as required. To discharge routine patients once their therapeutic goals have been met and an appropriate discharge plan established.

These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.

The majority of our 8,000 staff – who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups. Many can and more than 400 of them are on our Ofsted accredited . We’re proud to be a employer.
