Job overview
We are looking for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our well established and integrated adult community rehabilitation service.Ìý

Our community rehab team assesses housebound adults within their home environment.ÌýÌýÌý By assessing people within their home environment, we are in a good position to significantly improve people's quality of life and promote independence at home by providing therapy as well as by jointly working with social services, physiotherapists and the other members of our integrated team, making this a very rewarding job.
Main duties of the job
Undertake complex, holistic person-centred assessments, treatment, support planning and reviews of people with a range of health conditions in the community.
To carry a caseload and ability of complete detailed assessment and treatment of patiens within the borough of Redbridge.
To work as part of MDT demonstratikg excellent rehabilitation of patients with complex physical and cognitive needs.Ìý
Experience on equipment ordering, moving and handling risk assessment.Ìý

Starting with NELFT Ìý
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.Ìý As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High-Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735) pro rata for part time staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Provide high quality Occupational Therapy clinical expertise and service.
Responsible for the delivery a range of evidence based interventions which promote independence, social inclusion and normalisation for service users.
Ensure continuous responsibility for coordinating the care ofÌý service user alloacated.
Ordering and reviews of equipment to faciliate independednce and reduce manaul handling risks
Identify barriers to rehabilitations -fatigue, congnition, psychologigical, complete assessment and treatment, signpost to appropriate services.
Manage challenging clinical situations and plan interventions whilst ensuring regular evaluation of the service users treatment plan.
Critically evaluate effectiveness of therapy interventions, in collaboration with service users, carers and other professionals.
Provide specialist clinical advice and contribute to clinical information on service users’ progress by completing regular reviews within duration of treatmentÌý
Work in partnership with a range of other services to provide support and treatment to service users to facilitate the safe management of their needs and conditions.
Work within the safeguarding adults and children frameworks across the Trust.
Completing inservice trainings
Supervision of junour staff
Take responsibility for an evidence-based clinical audit.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Bsc (Hons) Occupational therapy degree or equivalent
- HCPC registered
Desirable criteria
- 3 years post qualification
Car Driver
Essential criteria
- Car driver with valid licence
Desirable criteria
- UK licence
Experience

- 3 years NHS/ Community experience
Desirable criteria
- Experience in equipment provision
