Job overview
The post holder will have overall accountability for the day-to-day management of the nursing service across their area. The post holder will practice at an advanced level demonstrating a high level of autonomy and clinical decision-making. They will work as a highly specialised member of the inter-professional team to ensure that the needs of the patient are always met and that staffing is at an appropriate level to meet all of our patient’s needs.
This is an exciting time for the Emergency Department (ED) at Whipps Cross Hospital, with the support of a dynamic and forward-thinking consultant body in Emergency Care, you will have the opportunity and support to drive through the changes that you feel will enhance the quality of Emergency care offered at the Whipps Cross ED. Therefore, we are looking for a forward thinking and dynamic Matron. This skill set will enable the post-holder to lead on the establishment of new safe and effective pathways of care for our local paediatric and adult patient population.
Main duties of the job
Managing and leading a busy department and team of ED staff. Motivating and role modelling high standards, implementing and driving improvements and initiatives. Continuously striving to achieve an outstanding Emergency department
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated compassionate individual to join our team. An experienced nurse leader who is enthusiastic and dynamic. Working in conjunction with the wider hospital team to deliver a high standard of care to all our patients.
