Are you an experienced chemotherapy nurse looking for a new challenge? The Haematology-Oncology (Malignant Haem) Clinical trials unit Hammersmith Hospital are seeking a band 6 nurse to support our growing portfolio of transplant, CAR-T and malignant Haematology research studies.

This is an exciting role which will offer candidates the opportunity to continue to work in a clinical environment whilst also developing their research skills. The post holder will be part of a multidisciplinary team including experienced clinical and research staff, taking part in a wide range of clinical research studies. The role responsibilities will include the delivery and administration of systemic anti-cancer therapies and

Investigational research treatments, whilst collaborating with the research teams to ensure studies are conducted to the highest ethical and safety standards.

The roles are patient facing and the successful applicants will be able to make a valued contribution in assessing and managing the care pathways for patients participating in research. Prior experience of administering chemotherapy and other anti-cancer therapies is essential.

Previous experience of working in a research environment is desirable but we will offer candidates a comprehensive training program, therefore encourage applications from experienced chemotherapy nurses with a passion to work in research.

The post requires excellent communication skills, a sound understanding of cancer therapeutics, and the ability to work autonomously. A mature attitude, self-motivation and the ability to work independently are essential attributes for this role.

The posts will be based at Hammersmith Hospital.

• The post holder will support the aims of the Trust and the NIHR clinical research network to improve the speed, quality, and integration of clinical research, through the successful delivery of clinical research in the NHS.
• The post holder is a recognised expert in haemato-oncology treatments with an understanding of the research environment. He/she will take responsibility for the delivery of clinical research treatments, collaborating with key personnel throughout the trust and network to ensure continued care and support for patients involved in clinical trials.ÌýÌý These trials may be related to anti-cancer including Peripheral stem cell transplant treatment (e.g. chemotherapy, radiotherapy, biological therapy, gene therapy, and GVHD studies), symptom management or some other aspect of cancer care, such as screening.
• The main focus of the role will be in supporting the delivery of the research portfolio through identification of suitable participants, patient recruitment, education and monitoring of patients within clinical trials.Ìý The post holder will be responsible for the safe administration of investigational medicinal products and will work closely with other members of the research teams to ensure studies are conducted according to ICH GCP guidelines.Ìý
• The post holder will be expected to have knowledge of Haematological cancer care and will be expected to develop skills and knowledge relating to the conduct of clinical trials in this area.
