Job overview
Our Children鈥檚 team is expanding and is led by our Senior Nursing Team. When you come here, you鈥檒l always be learning; developing your knowledge and ensuring your skills are kept fully up to date. You will be supported by Clinical Nurse Educator, Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and Quality managers, together with a friendly multidisciplinary team and a corporate training and development team. We have in house leadership programmes and work with a range of universities to ensure you can progress through academic pathways to support your career development.听

Main duties of the job
鈥 听 听The Junior Sister / Charge Nurse will actively participate and contribute to the management of the Clinical areas.听
鈥 听 听They will act as a mentor 鈥 teaching and supervising junior staff and colleagues, including student nurses, healthcare support workers, medical staff and AHP鈥檚.听
鈥 听 听The Junior Sister / Charge Nurse will provide clinical expertise to the discipline of the clinical areas.听
鈥 听 听To carry out 2 allergy testing clinics per week in Children鈥檚 Outpatients supporting the paediatric consultant听

Patients across north east London are benefitting from two new state of the art theatres at KGH and our Community Diagnostic Centres at Barking Community Hospital and St George鈥檚 Health and Wellbeing Hub will significantly increase the number of scans that can be carried out.
We鈥檙e looking forward to introducing an electronic patient record next year. This will mean the records of any patient visiting one of the seven hospitals run by BHRUT and Barts Health will be accessible to the clinical teams. It鈥檒l make things easier for staff and will be better for patients.

- RSCN, RN (Child Branch)
- Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor

- PILS/EPALS certified
EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria
- Experience as Senior Band 5 Nurse 鈥 has experience of taking charge on shift of the ward.
