The COMHAD Specialist Practitioner post is an exciting new role designed to provide specialist substance misuse and mental health interventions within the Complex Emotional Needs Service. The post holder will offer specialist consultation, assessment and provide both individulaised and group based short term interventions, working autonomously and collaboratively with substance partners and other mental health services to ensure that clients using or impacted by substance use receive appropriate support and treatment. The role requires the Practitioner to engage in a high level of Multi-Disciplinary work, supporting and developing the skills and knowledge base of colleagues across the CEN and the ADAPT Teams in Greenwich, Bromley & Bexley and promoting COMHAD interventions in a flexible and creative manner.

The role requires the Practitioner to champion parity of service access, and to ensure that service users who may be using substances are able to access the same level of mental health services as those who are not, promoting the core overarching COMHAD concepts of there being ‘no wrong door’ and that substance misuse is ‘everybody’s business’.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
